AFSCME Florida Statement on Recertification at Polk County Public Schools

Today, members of AFSCME Local 2227 voted overwhelmingly for their union through AFSCME with 100% in favor of recertification. 

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement: 

“As a new school year approaches, we are proud to, once again, overwhelming win recertification for the dedicated men and women who make the Polk County Public Schools happen. Their hard work and service to the students and staff is what makes so much of the success in the schools possible. Parents can be assured that they will continue to have a voice to speak up for quality education, safe schools and ways to ensure we are getting better every day.”
